Pilar group benefits from DTI SSF project

PILAR, BATAAN — Pilar Lady Mayor Alice Pizarro said an enterprising group in her town is directly benefitting from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Shared Service Facility (SSF) project.

She said that the group Rural Improvement Council (RIC) is the recipient of food processing machinery from DTI.
She added that the group is using the machinery for peanut processing.

The group is conducting business at Nagwaling Food Terminal.
“With the machinery, the members of our RIC group can now augment their income,” she said.

The food processing machinery is the first in the province given to a small and medium enterprise (MSME) under the DTI SSF project.
DTI Bataan Provincial Director Nelin Cabahug said the food processing machinery is worth P215,000.

She said that the DTI SSF project aims to boost the competitiveness and productivity of MSMEs here both in the domestic and international markets.
She added that the project also aims to help micro-entrepreneurs in the province boost their businesses for the next nine years.
