PILAR JOB FAIR 2014

PILAR, Bataan – With continuous efforts to further enhance the employability of jobseekers here in Bataan, 74 jobseekers were hired on the spot (HOTS) during a Job Fair held at the Municipal Covered Court of this town last month, spearheaded by Hon. Alicia D. Pizarro, Mayor of Pilar; Ms. Leilani M. Reynoso, Head of Department of Labor and Employment Bataan Provincial Field Office and Mr. Melchor A. Cui, Head of Public Employment Service Office of Bataan.

 

   In partnership with the Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) of Bataan, local companies and licensed overseas recruitment agencies, the job fair was held successfully with a total of 3,493 job vacancies reported, solicited and participated in by 414 registered jobseekers.

 

   The Job Fair recorded HOTS, according to PESO Capitol and DOLE, represented a placement rate of 18 percent of the 414 registered applicants or three percentage points above the 15 percent target. This also translated to a 13 percent placement rate of the 564 qualified applicants.

 

  Said activity is one of the three National Job Fair activities slated in the Province of Bataan, including the one conducted recently, last May 6, at the People’s Center and another to be conducted on December 8, 2014 to coincide with the DOLE Anniversary.

 

  A one stop shop registration was also held during the conduct of the job fair. Forty two registrants availed of the programs of TESDA, 33 with the Social Security System Bataan and 32 with PhilHealth.

 

  “It was a day for jobseekers”. Said Unilever General Manager Ms. Mylee Hernandez, one of the sponsors of the activity. They provided three mobile phones, ecobags and umbrellas for the raffle, in addition to the. bottomless juice drinks to make the jobseekers feel comfortable during the job fair.
