The Philippine Health Insurance System together with the Local Government Unit of Pilar, Bataan thru its Municipal Health Office (MHO) and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) launched the ALAmin at GAmitin (ALAGA) Program last April 30, 2014 at the Bataan Government Center. This activity aimed at helping Philhealth members be aware of their benefits especially those members listed under the national household targeting system as poor.
One week prior to the activity, the MHO, MSWDO and the Barangay Health Workers located 90% of the 2856 Philhealth members in the municipality. From these, 400 members were invited to witness the ceremonial activity graced by Hon. Alice D. Pizarro (Municipal Mayor), Hon. Marino H. Caguimbal (Municipal Vice Mayor), Mr. Henry V. Almanon (Branch Manager, Philhealth Regional Office), Hon. Edgardo Z. Lulu (SB member on Health), Dr. Robert Luneta (Provincial Health Team Officer) and Ms. Marilyn Tigas (Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer) which lasted for four hours. After the important messages of Hon. Pizarro and Mr. Almanon, the ceremonial distribution of Member Data Records to 14 Philhealth members of Pilar, Bataan was done. Intermission numbers of municipal employees, games and other surprises made the afternoon enjoyable. The activity ended with a message from Hon. Caguimbal after the signing of the commitment wall by the different agencies concerned.
