Cooperatives of the Municipality of Pilar Joins Philippine Cooperative Centennial Year

The cooperatives in the Municipality of Pilar joined in the celebration of the centennial year of cooperatives in the Philippines held at the Quezon City Memorial Circle last February 5, 2015. The four cooperatives from Pilar that were able to join are Lingap Kapwa MPC, Cuyong MPC, Don Pablo Roman Memorial High School MPC, and RIC. Other cooperatives in the province also joined the event through the coordination of the Provincial Cooperative Development and Enterprise Office.

Our beloved Mayor Alicia D. Pizarro who was always very supportive of the cooperatives’ activities helped in providing the vehicle the officers and staff rode to the venue. There were guest artists who performed like Jonalyn Viray who graced the occasion with her sweet singing voice. The attendees enjoyed not only the event itself but were able to get to know one another better and built camaraderie among themselves.

The theme of the celebration is “Kooperatiba: Ika-100 Taong Pagpupugay, Tungo sa Maunlad na Buhay”.  True enough, the cooperatives in the town of Pilar were all geared towards helping small-scaled entrepreneurs in starting and sustaining their businesses. The cooperatives have also been supportive of the many livelihood programs of the Pilarians as well as other aspects that can uplift the lives of our town’s folks.
