Pilar’s Municipal Cooperative Development Council Joins the First Bataan Cooperatives Night

As part of the 73rd Araw ng Kagitingan celebration, the cooperatives of Bataan partake in the first ever Bataan Cooperatives Night held last Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Plaza Mayor, City of Balanga, Bataan. The affair was organized by the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO) with the able and effective leadership of Ms. Azucena E. Sugatain.

Four municipalities including Mariveles, Abucay, Orion, and Pilar as well as the City of Balanga presented special production numbers while other cooperatives of the province were enjoined as lively audience for the said occasion. Ms. Janny Manla, technical staff of PCEDO was the event coordinator and program of the successful event.

The Municipal Cooperative Development Council of Pilar, Bataan spearheaded by its chairperson, Ms. Thelma T. Sangalang with the competent Cooperative Development Specialist I of Pilar, Mr. Raymund C. Macomis partnered in enjoining Pilar’s cooperatives to actively participate in the eventful night. Mr. Leo Espinosa, a teacher at Pablo Roman National High School and a member of the school’s cooperative with his band mates performed lively and entertaining music. The audience even danced at the floor to their last performance.

Pilar also showed the eco-tourism audio-video presentation before and while the band’s performance. The audience was excited to see that Pilar is already offering attractions such as the ATV, zipline, and tree hopping at Dunsulan Falls. PCEDO Head, Ms. Sugatain mentioned that one of the goals of the night was not only to highlight the contributions of the cooperatives in the economic sector of the province but the tourism attractions in their areas as well which share in the entrepreneurial mindset of the members of the cooperatives.

Ms. Ma. Cristina Banzon, Bataan Provincial Tourism Officer was also present to enjoy the show. Ms. Ma. Teresa Robles, Board of Trustees of BPTCFI inspired the cooperatives to continuously partake in being important stakeholders in the economic progress of the province.
