PESO Pilar headed by Mr. Solomon Sinson in cooperation with 43 local and for work abroad employment agencies including Andrew’s Manpower Agency, McNickson, Unilever, and Sutherland held a job fair at the Covered Court of the Municipality of Pilar last April 14, 2015. It was a well-attended event catering to about 341 applicants, more than 50% are Pilarians and other Bataeños looking for job opportunities or greener pastures. Mr. Sinson explained that the said event was regarded as a National Job Fair by PESO and DOLE.

The fair started at 8:00AM with Ms. Rosario Escoto, the Municipal Planning Development Officer welcoming all the guests, participating agencies, and job hunters to the event. Our dynamic Mayor Alicia D. Pizarro thanked all those who partook in the fair and did their share to make it successful. She also thanked the job seekers who came and wished them luck in finding the right job for them. She also made mention that all are welcome not only her constituents on this opportunity fair.  This year’s theme “Trabaho Mo Sagot Ko, Aasenso Basta Disiplinado” was highlighted by Mayor Alice D. Pizarro enjoining everyone to practice discipline in the workplace.

Mr. Melchor Cui, the Provincial PESO head was also present at the fair and he also extended his greetings and blessings to the participants and attendees. He was thankful to the agencies who came to offer numerous opportunities to the Pilarians and to the other applicants who came to seek for a job.

Raffle prizes were drawn courtesy of Andrew’s Manpower Agency. The major prizes include three (3) electric shavers and two (2) big stand electric fans. The lucky winners of the stand fans were Armando Herrera from Balut II and Mary Nase Renosa from Sta. Rosa. The other agencies also gave away goodies. McNickson gave away umbrellas and bags. Unilever gave away many items. Roel’s have had free food tasting of hotdogs, tocino, and longganisa. Sutherland gave away fans.

Mr. Sinson thanked all the attendees especially the applicants. He said that the job fair was very helpful so that the job seekers would not have to go to Manila to apply for jobs abroad. It was a good opportunity for them to find good jobs without spending much. He also thanked Ms. Imelda Desales, head of Pilar OFW Family Circle and all its members for helping out in the registration and distribution of food.
