PhilHealth’s ALAGA KA Program for Pilarians

Last April 24, 2015, PhilHealth, as it celebrates its 20th Anniversary, once again visited Pilar to provide valuable information about the Alaga Ka Program to its members. The event took place at the Bataan Government Center from 1:00 to 5:00PM. 439 attendees actively participated in the event including 350 PhilHealth members, baranggay officials, Municipality of Pilar employees and department heads, and the PNP-Pilar force.

Hon. Alicia D. Pizarro was very happy and grateful that many Pilarians came to learn more about the program. She said that she is very thankful to PhilHealth for continuously preferring Pilar to gain and benefit from the program. She mentioned how lucky Pilar was that Dir. Tuliao visited the people of the town in spite this day was her birthday.

PhilHealth Regional Director Lolita Tuliao graced the event and encouraged everyone present to utilize the services provided by the Alaga Ka Program. She said that she wishes everyone to be healthy and not get sick but that they can still use the services in RHUs and enjoy free laboratory tests and medical check-up.

Mr. Henry Almanon, branch manager of  PhilHealth in Region 3also stressed that Phil Health members have the “no balance billing” benefit and that they should be aware of this and enjoy it.

A question and answer forum also transpired. Most of the concerns raised were about buying medicines outside the hospital because the hospital has no stocks of the needed medicine. Mr. Almanon said that the members should insist on the no balance billing. In case that the hospital insisted it has no medicine on stock; the member can go to Bataan General Hospital to seek assistance and help to resolve this concern.
