Municipality of Pilar Celebrates 2016 National Women’s Month

The National Women’s Month Celebration with the theme “Kapakanan ni Juana, Isama sa Agenda” was once again supported by the Municipality of Pilar thru the Municipal Inter Agency Implementing Council on Violence Against Women and Children (MIAICVAWC) with the DEpEd-Pilar, DILG, POPCOM, PNP-Pilar and CSOs. This was held last March 4, 2016 at the Municipal grounds. Our beloved mayor, Hon. Alicia D. Pizarro, an active advocate for the protection of women and children is ever supportive of this event.

The celebration started with a motorcade at 6:00AM participated in by many empowered women from the different barangays of the municipality. A short program was held at the covered court. Dr. Marita Navata led the assembly to an invocation followed by the National Anthem and Pilar Hymn led by Ms. Gloria Crisostomo. The assembly was welcomed by Hon. Miguel D. Solomon, President of MIAICVAWC.
Vice Mayor Marino H. Caguimbal gave an inspiring message. Mayor Alice D. Pizarro spoke to the women on this momentous occasion. She congratulated everyone for their uniqueness as women who are equipped with remarkable courage and strength to perform their many tasks and duties as mothers, wives, friends, community leaders, and spiritual advocates. Hon. Cipriano Paguio, the Vice President of MIAICVAWC closed the ceremonies with his motivating message.

An energetic Zumba session was enjoyed by everyone afterwards before the sumptuous snacks were served. The celebration was concluded with the raffle for a cause. Every woman participant and all those who celebrated with them went home with smiles on their faces and armed with renewed inspiration to be the best women this world can always celebrate every year.
