Francis Kong Engaging the Youth of Pilar Towards Making Right Choices

Pilar, Bataan - Last April 8, 2016, the Municipal Council for the Protection of Children held a youth forum with Francis Kong, a renowned motivational speaker at the Bataan Government Center.With the diligence of our able town leader, Hon. Alicia D. Pizarro, this is the second time that Mr. Kong inspired Pilareños to become better individuals and contributing members of the community.

The forum started at exactly 10:00 A.M. Students from Pablo Roman National High School and Dr. Victoria Roman Memorial High School, ALS learners, and the Youth Ministry of the Light of Jesus Family (Feast Bataan) participated in the activity. Mayor Alice D. Pizarro and the councillors of our municipality as well as the department heads of the LGU of Pilar were present to grace the event. Head teachers from different schools headed by Dr.Jeolfa G. Reyes also attended and supported this important forum.Dr. Reyes also did the honor of introducing the prominent key speaker.

Our very lovely mayor, Mayor Alice D. Pizarro warmly welcomed the participants to the event. She gave a very inspiring message to us, the youth. It was refreshing to listen to her as she encourages us to become the best we can be.

The guest speaker, Mr. Francis Kong was very humble and smart. He is a very inspiring and witty preacher. He is a father of 2 lovely girls and a boy. He told us to make the right choices. He explained many things to us to help us better understand the pros and cons of making the right decisions in life. He shared to us the 7B’s. For girls, the 7B’s stand for BOOKS BEFORE BOYS BECAUSE BOYS BRING BABIES and the 7B’s for boys is BOOKS BEFORE BABES BECAUSE BABES BRING BANKRUPTCY.

He also explained the steps on how to make the right choice. He stressed to us that “You cannot fake your way to being successful!” We also learned that “we are the products of the choices we make from day to day”. We indeed learned so many valuable lessons from him.

Child representatives of MCWC, NhicolailaCapatayan and Rodrigo Velasco, Jr. were the emcees of the event. Ms. Jenny Lee R. Casin from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office did the closing remarks. She thanked everyone for attending the activity.
