Pagbabalik Tanaw Sa Kalayaan

Pilar, Bataan – Last June 13, 2016, the Municipality of Pilar held a post-Independence Day celebration after its Monday morning Flag Ceremony

The celebration was facilitated by the Municipal Accounting Office headed by the diligent Ms. Alicia O. Ladringan.

Ms. Ladringan welcomed everyone in the mini program with her Opening Remarks where she recounted the years when the Philippines was conquered by the Spaniards, Americans, and the Japanese. She recalled how the country was able to break free from these years of tyranny.

Then, Ms. Ladringan, together with Ms. Dolores V. Carunungan, Municipal HRM Officer, and Ms. Fe P. Sagre, Municipal Treasurer led the employees in singing “Ang Bayan Ko.” Trivia questions about Philippine history and its independence were asked and some small prizes were given to the winners.

The municipal accounting staff showed a tableu, a “pagbabalik tanaw sa kasaysayan”. It was accompanied by a poem written by Ms. Ladringan. The poem inspired everyone to look back at the past, reflect on its events, and protect the freedom our heroes have fought so bravely for.

To flavor the event with wit and humor, the assembly was asked to sing Tatlong Bibi (Three Ducks), a famous nursery rhyme. Afterwards, each department was asked to have its representative for a Tatlong Bibi showdown. Ms. Sagre, Ms. Lilian Javier from the Municipal Health Office, and Ms. Jaja of the Municipal Social Welfare Development Office competed in the showdown.

For the awarding of winners, our ever-supportive Mayor Alicia D. Pizarro rewarded all the three mentioned as winners. Mayor Pizarro also did the honor of closing the celebration with her motivating message of learning lessons from the past and guarding the legacy and treasures of Independence Day. She encouraged everyone to look at Mt. Samat and the Shrine of Valor so as not to forget the bravery and valor it has left us.
