Pilar is now a Drug Free Community

Camp Tolentino, Balanga City – Last September 2, 2016 was the unveiling of the Barangay Drug Clearing Operation Marker and was also the awarding of the winners of the Slogan and Poster Making contest at the Camp Tolentino in Balanga City.

Our Mayor Alice Pizarro joins the event as a manifestation of her strong desire and support for the drug free campaign of the provincial government. Also present during the event was the former mayor of our municipality, and is now the General Manager of the MBDA (Metro Bataan Development Authority), GM Charlie Pizarro.

The winners for the slogan and poster making contest are the following:

10th place – John Carlo Guillermo (Holy Rosary Parochial Institute)

9th place – Margie Rose Sagadraca (Mother Margherita de Brincat Catholic School)

8th place – Franz Lloyd Delos Reyes (Mariveles National Highschool-Poblacion)

7th place – Karl Maceda (Emilio S. Bernabe National Highschool)  

6th place – Patrice Nicole Trinidad (SMMA)

5th place – Ruzzel Ross Ora (Mariveles National Highschool Cabcaben)

4th place – Kurt Paolo Espinosa (Pablo Roman National Highschool)

3rd place – Christian Rivera (Morong National Highschool-Annex)

2nd place – Neil Magdaong (Mariveles National Highschool-Poblacion)

1st place – Ace Espinosa (Brgy. Puerto Rivas Ibaba, Balanga City)

 

After the awarding of the winners from the slogan and poster making contest, the unveiling of the Barangay Drug Clearing Operation Marker follows.

The marker revealed that Pilar, with 12 affected and 7 unaffected barangays, is now 100% drug free as of August 31, 2016. GM Charlie Pizarro said in his closing remarks that the barangay officials should set aside the politics and should work hand in hand in order to achieve a drug free community.
