The night of the talented tricycle drivers took place at the Municipal Covered Court last October 5, 2016. The TalenTODA Night gave the tricycle drivers an opportunity to showcase their surprising talents. 

 

 

Hon. Gerry Sanchez, the SB Committee Chairman on Public Utilities & Transportation, began the event with an opening message for the audience. He gave value to the presence of the tricycle drivers by saying that “ito ang gabi ng mga bagong bayani na laging nasa lansangan” said Hon. Sanchez.

 

 

Next was the inspirational message of Mayor Alice Pizarro who said “dahil tuwing fiesta, ito ang pagpapakita ng talento ng iba’t ibang sector”. She also emphasized how the tricycle drivers serve as the representation of the people of Pilar and that by being so, they should remain presentable and good-mannered. 

 

 

Before the competition began there was a series of performances from different proud Pilarians. Maimai Cantillano, a recently famed Spoken Word Poetry artist from Brgy. Pantingan performed her famous piece entitled “Sa Pagitan Ka Natagpuan”. The next performer was Team Poklung which is a comedy group that became famous through posting videos in the Vines app. After that, Bayle Romano of Pablo Roman High School also gave a performance.  

 

 

The talentodas featured different kinds of talents, from singers to magicians, to novelty acts, the tricycle drivers were able to present a spectacular performance. There were several performances of the contestants showing their prowess in singing. One of the contestants presented a novelty  act in which it featured an unusual showcase of talent. Mr. Ronaldo Sunga from Brgy. Wawa surprised the audience when he cooked a tilapia using his bare hands. The audience were also in awe when the magician, Mr. Allan Alto of Brgy. Pantingan, jumped on a broken piece of glass.  

 

 

The judges were definitely entertained. Mr. Mark Anthony Cayanan, Ms. Ma. Theresa Robles, and Mr. Robert Pantig found it difficult to choose amongst the talented tricycle drivers, but nevertheless a decision had to be made. The winners were:

 

 

2nd Runner Up: Allan Alto (Brgy. Pantingan)

1st Runner Up: Jesusimo Sacdalan (Brgy. Alauli) 

Champion: Francis Obello (Brgy. Nagwaling) 

 

 

The 2nd runner up was awarded by Hon. Cecilia Garcia, the 1st runner up was awarded by Hon. Gerry Sanchez and the Champion was awarded by Vice Mayor Mar Caguimbal.

 

 

Also present during the event were Hon. Cipriano Paguio and Hon. Miguel Solomon.
