Gabi ng Pablo Roman: Ang Pagbabalik

The Thursday night of the fiesta week activities was for the “Gabi ng Pablo Roman: Ang Pagbabalik” last October 6, 2016. This night was filled with spectacular talents of the students and teachers of Pablo Roman National High School. The program began with a doxology and national anthem led by Mr. Gespher John Sanchez (T-1, Music Specialist).  This was followed by an opening message from Ms. Rea H. Pangilinan (SHT-III English). 

 

 

Mayor Alice Pizarro greeted the audience and reiterated her appreciation of the unwavering support of the Pablo Roman National High School community. “Hindi niyo po kami binibigo, maraming taon na po tayong nagsasamasama”, said Mayor Alice. She also mentioned how PRNHS came to be a house of such talented students because of the supportive teachers that continuously encourages the students to hone their skills.   

 

 

After the inspirational message from the mayor, the program proceeded to the presentation of a short film entitled “Uyayi” (Lullaby). The short film featured the effects of early teenage pregnancy and also how it affected the relationship of the mother and daughter. Following the film showing was the awarding of the cast. They were able to garner awards such as Best Poster Awardee, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Actor from the Adolescent and Health Youth Development, PopCom R-III. 

 

 

The PRNHS community also presented a play entitled “Ang Pagbabalik sa Tinubuang Lupa” which is a story of balikbayans trying to get to know their Filipino roots. The play featured Filipino folk songs such as “Leron Leron Sinta" and “Sitsiritsit”, Filipino foods such as “puto” and “turon”, and Filipino games such as “piko”. In the play, the balikbayans appreciated the diversity of the Filipino culture and made sure that they keep on learning about their Filipino heritage. “Kaya huwag nating kalimutan ang pagiging Filipino”, said by the cast as the closing line of their play. 

 

 

 

Before the end of the event, the PRNHS OPM Band gave an astounding performance. This was followed by the unity dance which features the essence of the event which is the feast of Nuestra SeÅ„ora Del Pilar.
