Galing ni Lola’t Lolo, Bibo si Apo

“Galing ni Lola’t Lolo, Bibo si Apo” is the fiesta event which aims to prove that age doesn’t matter. The senior citizens of the Municipality of Pilar, together with their grandchildren, showcased their talents last October 10, 2016 at Municipal Covered Court.

The event began with an opening message from Hon. Aurea Iguico. This was followed by an inspiring message from Vice Mayor Mar Caguimbal. The judges for this event were Ms. Marilyn Tigas, Mr. Marvin Medina, and Ms. Joni Orejola.

The contestants performed different kinds of talents, from portraying a short drama, to singing and dancing, truly the age of the participants does not hinder them from performing. The grandchildren also took this as an opportunity to express their love to their grandparents. One of them said, “habang buhay pa ang parents at grandparents iparamdam natin na love natin sila”. And of course, one of the pairs sang “Batang Bata Ka Pa” wherein it shows the relationship of a grandchild and grandparent giving advice to the younger one.

After the contest proper, Mr. Romeo G. Manilili wrote a poem dedicated to the senior citizens entitled “Alay kay Lolo at Lola”.
