This year’s Kasinagan Festival celebration began with a Mass last October 3, 2016 at Pilar Municipal Hall.
The first event for the fiesta celebration was the AgriFair last October 4, 2016 at the Municipal Covered Court. This emphasized the importance of the agricultural sector to the municipality. The AgriFair served as a thanksgiving event for a fruitful year with the guidance from our patron saint Nuestra Seńora Del Pilar.
For the next event, the TalenTODA happened last October 5, 2016 at the Municipal Covered Court. This gave the tricycle drivers an opportunity to showcase their different talents, from singing to magic tricks, to novelty acts, the tricycle drivers were able to present a spectacular performance.
“Gabi ng Pablo Roman: Ang Pagbabalik” last October 6, 2016 at the Municipal Covered Court filled the night with spectacular talents of the students and teachers of Pablo Roman National High School.
Following this event was “Eat’s Friday: Gastro Party” last October 7, 2016 also at the Municipal Covered Court. This is the night where different food establishments within Pilar came together and served their specialties for an affordable ticket price of P150. The food establishments that participated were Chef’s Le, Chocolate de Batirol, Diner St. Cafe, Espada Grill, Ima Pamangan, Maria’s White Coco, and Marres Kitchen.
One of the much-awaited events for the fiesta celebration is the “PaSaKalye (Street Dancing Competition)” last October 8, 2016. Group 2, Barangay Balut I & Balut II was awarded 2nd runner up. Group 4, Barangay Panilao, was awarded 1st runner up and lastly, Group 1, Barangay Sta. Rosa won as the Champion for the second time.
Last October 9, 2016, the Sangguniang Bayan spearheaded the Fun Run. After the run, SB members, Vice Mayor Mar Caguimbal and Mayor Alice Pizarro participated in the zumba fitness dance program. The 50 minute workout was choreographed by Mardy Rosete then followed by the awarding of the winners for the said event.
Duet Superstars last October 9, 2016 at Municipal Covered Court showcased the beautiful voices in Pilar. The 2nd runner up is from Brgy. Sta. Rosa (Hazel Niña Tabaquero & Czarina Noreen Cabuang) and was awarded by Hon. Miguel Solomon. The 1st runner up is from Brgy. Wawa (Mary Grace Absalon & Manilyn Tayag) and was awarded by Hon. Cecilia Garcia. Lastly, the Champion, is from Brgy. Alauli (Sherwin Pineda & Sheila Mae Nieves) and was awarded by Mayor Alice Pizarro.
“Galing ni Lola’t Lolo, Bibo si Apo” is the fiesta event which aims to prove that age doesn’t matter. It took place last October 10, 2016 at the Municipal Covered Court. Hon.

Jana Cesiah Rosas from Brgy. Poblacion. Mayor Alice Pizarro and Mr. Leandro Villar, President of PSFCAP, awarded the Champion Ms. Mercedes Morales & Lian Morales from Brgy. Pantingan.
Mayor Alice Pizarro spearheaded the Parada ng Bayan last October 11, 2016 from the Municipal Hall to Bantan Munti. After that was the La Torre which happened at Our Lady of the Pillar Parish Church. For this years’ competition, the 2nd Runner Up is William Band (Brgy. Wakas North). And for the 1st Runner Up is Banda Padilla (Brgy. Rizal). Lastly, the Champion is Nuestra Señora Del Pilar Band (Brgy. Poblacion & Rizal).
To culminate the fiesta activities, the Night with the Stars last October 14, 2016 happened at the jam-packed Municipal Covered Court. The night was filled with performances from local artists, and celebrities. The special guests for this year were Boobsie, Ylona Garcia, TJ Monterde, and That’s My Bae.
The Kasinagan Festival 2016 was truly a successful event filled with different projects that encompasses all sectors, from the AgriFair that promotes agriculture, to the contests that showcases the talented Pilarians, the Gabi ng Pablo Roman which highlights the talents of both the students and the teachers of PRNHS, and the Eat’s Friday: Gastro Party which highlights Pilar’s business enterprises. Next year’s festival will definitely be something to look forward to.
