Pilar Foundation Day Celebration

Last April 10, the local government unit of Pilar in the province of Bataan, celebrated its 218th Foundation Day. It was full of fun-filled activities that highlighted the different things which can be found in Pilar.

The first part of the program began with the presentation of the different school's Drum and Lyre and showcasing of products of the MSMEs through the trade fair. The first part of the program was also where the launching of the official mascot, Magiting, and tagline, Discover Pilar, took place. Ms. Rosarion Escoto also gave a brief explanation on the story behind the beautiful town of Pilar, and how it came to be. The trade fair was then followed by the parade of floats where the clustered barangays featured their version of Pilar, from noon, ngayoon at sa hinaharap. Barangay officials and municipal employees also joined the said parade, presenting their beautiful costumes.

This was followed by a mass and the inauguration of the local museum, Museo ng Kagitingan. Present were Cong. Joet Garcia, Vice Gov. Cris Garcia, Mr. Robert Hudson, Ms. Vicky Garcia, Municipal Official and Employees, Barangay Officials, and CSOs. The Rondalla Romano gave the audience a wonderful presentation through their intermission number, which was follwed by Fr. Edelbert Pomer, who led the blessing of the said museum.

The last part of the celebration's activities was filled with talent where students employees and even the guests were able to present Pilar's culture through dance, music, and a theatrical play.
