The Municipality of Pilar thru the initiative of Mayor Alice D. Pizarro is the beneficiary of two consecutive medical missions last June 2014.
On June 5, 2014, a medical mission was spearheaded by KABALIKAT (Kababaihan ng Bataan Lingap sa Kaunlaran at Tagumpay) under the leadership of Mrs. Vicky Garcia at the Pilar Covered Court in Barangay Panilao. A total of 350 patients (children, adults and pregnant) were provided with free check-up and medicines by a team of 7 doctors headed by Dr. Rose Acuna and Dr. Cherrielyne Naguit, Municipal Health Officer of Pilar, Bataan. Aside from the free medical checkup, a lecture on illicit drug use was provided by Chief Gilda Candido.
On June 7, 2014, another medical mission was made possible thru the Office of the Vice President Jejomar Binay at Pilar Covered Court, also in Barangay Panilao. This provincial-wide activity was made possible by the assistance of doctors from the Bataan Medical and Dental Society. A total of 650 patients received medical and dental services including free medicines and reading glasses.
